The family lived at Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. Only a few farmers had a variety of fruit in Hampton Falls, consusting of apples, pears, peaches, plums, cherries and grapes. Esquire Leavitt was known for having a variety of eating apples through the year. It is doubtful that any of those kinds are in existance today. He kept bees and was very successful in their management.[3]
