Alonzo Rowell Leavitt was born on the 6th of January, 1887 to Rebecca Gibbons Waite and Lemuel Sturdevant Leavitt , in Bunkerville, Nevada. He was the third child born and the only living child to adulthood. He was pretty much on his own at the age of 13. He took turns living with his uncles. He met Mary Ann Daly in Bunkerville while she was there visiting from Panquitch. They were married on the 23 of February, 1910 in St. George, Utah. In 1910 the census shows them living in Bunkerville, Nevada and they are farming. Thirza Riding and aunt of Mary Ann is living with them. In 1920 they are living in Provo, Utah and they are farming. In 1930 they are living in Salt Lake City and "Lon" is a salesman in Real Estate. In 1940 they are living in Salt Lake City, Utah and he is still in Real Estate. He and Mary Ann had 14 children, 11 living. Well known as "Leavitt's Eleven". Alonzo passed away on the 22 of December, 1966 In Salt Lake City, Utah. He is buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
