Marguerite Leboeuf was born before January 1, 1785 in St. James, Louisiana, a daughter of Jean Francois Leboeuf (1750–>1811) and Marie Reine Matherne (~1760–~1796).
By 1810 they were living in Lafourche Interior Parish, part of the United States Territory of Orleans, a few years before Louisiana's statehood. This area was comprised of mainly French-speaking Acadians, French, Spanish, Germans, and others who over time all became known as Cajuns. Marguerite was listed as being 24 years old with her husband and one child. On the census, she is listed as living at dwelling 570.[2]
Margarite died in October, 1849 in Houma, Terrebonne, Louisiana, USA, aged 63.

Leboeuf-172 and Leboeuf-53 appear to represent the same person because: I adopted Marguerite LEBOEUF (Leboeuf-53). She is likely the same as Margarita Leboeuf-172, who married Pierre CHIASSON. She was actually baptized at St. John the Baptist in 1785.
