The second Charity, born 29 July 1683. She remained, still unmarried, in Coreneirin, Mullans, Glasgow, and Mullans again, in which place she was married to Thomas Lecky, the son of Alexander Lecky, one of the Aldermen of LondonDerry, by whom she had 9 children, whose names are William, Alexander, Thomas, Jon, James, Richard, Elisabeth, Alexander, Thomas. Her husband was high-sheriff of the City & County of LondonDerry in 1700, and was one of the aldermen of said city and served as mayor of the same in 1708; he died in 1710; he was treasurer of the county also, and continued so till he died, and beside he was one of Capt Henry Ash's lieutenants in the Militia, with Alderman Samuel Ipeson, the other lieutenant. He was a comely person, and wanted no courage. Her eldest son William was married to Katharine Averell, by whom he got a good fortune, and by her he has 6 children now living, viz., Holland Leckey, Thomas, Nicholas, John, Alexander, & Ellisabeth Holland Leckey. William is now an alderman in the Corporation of LondonDerry. Elisabeth is married to John Hodgson, Esqr.; she has a daughter named Charity, and in March, 1735-6, or April, 1736, she was delivered of a son named Richard.
