Mary Ann was born in 1831 in Wisconsin in what was then Michigan Territory. Mary Ann Lecuyer (b. 1831) lived nearby the Manaige family in 1850. (census) By 1860, Mary Ann Lecuyer was absent, and Charles Manaige was married to a Mary Ann of the same age. It is therefore highly likely that Mary Ann Lecuyer was the wife of Charles Manaige.
She married Charles A. Manaige. Judging from the birth date of their eldest son Frank, they were probably married in 1852 in Minnesota Territory. After her untimely death in 1869, he remarried that same year.
1865 Minnesota State census shows the following people living with Charles Manaige:
Birth dates have been supplied from other sources. Sophie (Sophelia) Lecuyer had been living close to her brother James, who himself was the next door neighbor of the Manaige family. Sophie is likely the sister of
Mary Ann, after whom she named her first child.
She passed away on 10 Feb 1869. Mary was buried in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Saint Clair, Blue Earth, Minnesota. (Find a Grave)
