Biography

Albert was born in 1922 to Jesse Franklin Ledbetter and Zula Mae Reeves Ledbetter of Walker County, Alabama. At birth, his parents named him A.B. - later he changed his name to Albert Byron, for the A. B. Even so, his family in Alabama always called him A.B. He moved to Atlanta when he was around 19 yrs old, looking for work. He stopped in to dine at a restaurant that was owned and ran by Ms. Myrtle J Brooks Sudduth. As he told me, he said that when he saw Myrtle, a beauty with dark hair and blue eyes, he knew she was going to be his wife. Later, his wishes became reality, they were married and had 4 children together, raising 6 children in all, including the 2 boys that Myrtle had from her first marriage. They moved to Maryland and lived there for a few years and then moved back to Atlanta. He worked hard and loved his kids and grand kids, his door was always open and he provided a safe haven for all of us, never letting the sun set without a good joke or getting a laugh out of someone. He and Myrtle lived together 49 years and 11 months, until Myrtle passed away (heart attack] in 1992. He buried Myrtle next to their son, Byron Gary Ledbetter, at West View Cemetery in Atlanta. He told us that he wanted her to be buried there - and when his time came, that he wanted to be buried at Myrtle's feet - just as he had always been in life. He passed away in 2006 due to COPD/lung cancer. Deeply loved, he was a precious Dad and grand father.</ref>

In reviewing this profile, clearly needs minor editing, example at the end of Biography it shows "</ref>" tag. The tag should not be seen to the public and should be corrected in "edit" mode. Debra, this profile is on the list for Profile style review and in order for us to correct we need you to please lift the privacy level to "open" so it can be reviewed and corrected if need be, then you are welcome to put the privacy level back to lock down. It's fine and only a suggestion. Thank you kindly.
