Biography
Axie was born in 1885 to Wesley Ledford and Nellie Ledford nee
The June 1900 census[1]shows Axie residing with her family in Ramseytown Township, Yancey County, North Carolina, United States of America.
Axie married[2]Zebulon Beaver, who was fourteen years her elder, on 21 February 1901 in Yancey County.
Axie married[3]Harrison Woodby on 8 May 1908 in Yancey County.
The May 1910 census[4]shhows Axie residing with her family in Jacks Creek, Yancey County.
The January 1920 census[5]shows Axie, a widow, residing with her parents, who rent the property, in Biltmore Forest, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
Axie married[6]Benjamin Reed o 13 January 1923 in Bucombe County.
The April 1930 census[7]shows Axie residing with her family in Crooked Creek Township, McDowell County, North Carolina.
Axie, late of Asheville, RFD 5, Buncombe County[8]passed away[9]aged seventy four on 9 November 1960 of cardio-renal disease and hypertension. Axie was laid to rest[10] in Woodlawn Cemetery Asheville.
