Geoffrey Trollope Lee was born in England on October 29, 1879 to his parents Ellis Lee and Constance (Trollope) Lee. After school, Geoffrey joined the military and eventually achieved the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps. LTC Lee served during World War I as a part of the 46th Battalion under Brigadier General Duncan Glassfurd alongside the 12th Australian Infantry, 4th Australian Division, between 1914 and 1916. After the war, he met and later married the Contessa Estella Marie Carandini di Sarazano. Around 1917, his first child (Xandra Lee) was born, and later in 1922, his second and last child (Christopher Lee) was born. Geoffrey and Marie divorced in 1926, and he later met and married Helen Vinogradoff in 1929. There were no children from his second marriage. Geoffrey passed away in 1941 of double pneumonia and pleurisy.
