Biography

Charles was born in 1797 in Massachusetts, the son of Charles Lee and Rhoda Keith. Charles married Juliana Davis on 14 January 1830 in Comstock, Kalamazoo, Michigan Territory. They had nine children (per Familysearch), born between 1833 and 1848. Per Ancestry.com, they had thirteen children, born between 1833 and 1860. Charles passed away in 1878 [1] [2]

Charles was a farmer in Michigan.

In 1840, the Lee family lived in Comstock, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Males: one, aged under five years; two aged 5-9; 1 aged 40-49. Females: one aged 5-9; one aged 30-39. [3]

In 1850, the Charles Lee family lived in Comstock, Kalamazoo, Michigan, on the farm of Joseph W. Lee (Charles’ brother). The household included Joseph W. Lee, 50, a farmer; his wife, Lois, 42; Charles Lee, 54; his wife, Julia, 50; and their eight children, Alvin, 18; Aurilla, 18; John, 16; William, 17; Rhoda, 12; Jesse, 8; Julia A., 6; and Charles, 4. In 1860, the Lee family lived on their large farm in Comstock Township, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The household included

Charles Lee, 81, died of pneumonia on 19 November 1878 in Comstock, Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was married, a farmer, who was born in Massachusetts in 1797. [6]
