Ira farmed the Hill Drop Farm on the mountian above Stoney Creek, Ontario. He served in the Canadian Army at the end of World War One arriving in France on Nov 11 1918. He stayed on the mopping up campaign for six months and then returned home. He sold Hill Drop Farm in 1958 and built a house on King Street, Stoney Creek He lived there with his sister Ruby and worked on his nephew Larry Williams' farm at Mount Albion, Ontario.
