Biography

Melvina was the only child of Ivan and Evaline Lee. Both parents had passed away by 1844 so the young Melvina was raised by her grandparents, John and Nancy Lee. They moved with her from Indiana to Fairmont Township in Pike County, Illoinis in 1848. There she met and wed Joel Ham after the death of his first wife, Sarah Wells. They were blessed with eight children. Melvina passed away in 1906 and is buried with her husband in the Ham Family Cemetery in Chambersburg, Illoinis.
