She was born about 1685 and was the daughter of James Leigh. In 1728 she was mentioned in the last Will of her father James Leigh. [1]
Patience Leigh married after 1715 in North Carolina to Robert Purser. She passed away on 10 May 1733. Her husband died in Bath County before 11 Sep 1733, having written his will the same day that his wife is listed as having died.[2] From an abstract of her husband's will we learn the names of their children:
Richard Purser (heir of Ecrepint plantation on South Dividing Creek)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Patience by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Patience:
It's odd that Moses doesn't appear in Robert Purser's will. Other researchers have suggested that Patience and Robert also had a son who they named Robert, but as is apparent from the will abstract, these were the children:
Richard Purser (heir of Ecrepint plantation on South Dividing Creek)
James Purser
Benjamin Purser
Mary Purser
