Loading...Born in Jesup, Wayne county Georgia on April 16 1937, at home with Grandmother, Martha Jane Lee assisting. Father, Lewis Kimbrough Lee, was a Lineman for Georgia Power and Light and Mother a house wife at the time. Moved to Jacksonville, Fl. in early 1940 after sister born. Lived on Willowbranch street and attended West Riverside Elementary School all during WWII. Dad was away in the Navy most of that time. Over Christmas break of my 3rd grade year, 1946 we moved to Parker, AZ when Dad went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation. We were only there about half a year till he was transferred to the Phoenix office and we moved to Avondale a suburb of Phoenix. Attended Avondale elementary school there through my 6th grade year. Moved to Yuma, Az in 1950 and parents bought a home at 1933 11th Ave. Attended 7th and 8th grades at Mary Elizabeth Post Jr. High on 4th Ave.
Met my wife, June Foerstner, in the YUHS Band when she moved to Yuma in 1954. We started dating in Feb. of 1956 and married that November 22, Thanksgiving Day, and still married after 64 years.
We had three children in 1958, 1959 and 1965. Have 9 grandchildren. Lived in Yuma, AZ, Flagstaff, AZ, San Diego, CA, Jacksonville, FL, Massena, NY, Lewiston, NY, Ransonville, NY, Youngstown, NY, Schwana, WA, Kittitas, WA, Soap Lake, WA and Spokane, WA.
Had 35 year career in Hydro Power and System Dispatching, retiring in 1993. Was consultant for Bechtel Engineering on building and starting Cowlitz Falls Dam, a new Hydro power house, Drove Transit bus starting Grant Transit Authority before promotion to driver Supervisor. Worked as Grant County Superior Court Bailiff/Security for 10 years under Grant County Sheriff's Dept. in Ephrata, WA. ending in 2017.
While living in Soap Lake was member of Volunteer Fire dept., City Councilman for 21 years, Reserve Police Officer for 10 years after graduating from the Reserve Academy. and served as Mayer for 4 years.
Active in Episcopal Church, serving as Sr Warden, a Licensed Lay Reader and Eucharistic Minister.
