Marriage of Iris Catherinia Lynch and Walter Lewis Lee |
Walter Lee, my uncle, was a farmer; he managed other folk's farms when times were tough but developed GEM Farm in Haenertsburg into a self-sufficient enterprise. He grew pine trees for the logging industry. He was a man close to nature who wrote often to the newspapers expressing his views on matters political.
He and my Aunt Iris celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in Haenertsburg in 1981. He passed away in 1991 in Duiwelskloof.[3] He is buried in the Haenertsburg Main Cemetery.[4][5]
