Ella was born March 27, 1893 in Bloomville, Ohio. She was the daughter and sixth child of Joseph M. Lee and Ida Matilda Snyder. Her father Joseph passed away in 1895, she was just 2 years old. Her mother Ida married Reason McCollister, a Civil War veteran, in 1900, and the family lived in Pease Township, Belmont County, Ohio.
On October 2, 1915, Ella, age 22, married Howard W. Williamson in Lucas County, Ohio. He was a medical student who became a doctor. However, they divorced sometime before 1920; they had no children together. The 1920 census shows Ella, 27, boarding with a Sommers family in Toledo, Ohio, while working for an optical company. The 1930 census shows Ella, 37, boarding with a Schneider family in Toledo, while working as a bookkeeper at a plumbing company. The 1940 census shows Ella, age 47, still working for the plumbing company, and renting an apartment in a house at 2508 Erie Street, Toledo, Ohio; she had a lodger, Henry Egner, 58, who was married, not employed but made $1780 income that past year. Ella passed away Sept 24, 1969 in Toledo, Ohio, at a Long-Term Care Facility.
