Disputed Origins

The FamilySearch profile needs further review and correction, because the father who was attached does not pass the valid dates check (A father's death date (Lee-6598 died 26 Jun 1738) should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates (Lee-6582 born 1745)]. The parents that were attached here on WikiTree can be re-attached, but only if validity regarding vital dates is investigated and Sampson is sourced as a known son of Peter Lee and Elizabeth Lundy.

Unfortunately, we have no evident proofs on Sampson's AFN record to validate the parents that users have attached at FamilySearch, so his parents are unknown.

FamilySearch attributes Sampson Lee's birthplace as North Carolina. It is noted that previous researchers' placed Sampson's marriage in Sampson, but had incorrectly assumed Sampson, Georgia (please see the census records, now attached). Note, however, that Sampson was formed out of Duplin in 1784.
