Biography

Stephen is buried in the Lee family cemetery in Mason Co, KY. His tombstone inscription reads:“In memory of Mr. Stephen Lee, who departed this life June —, 1791; aged —,”. The Lee family cemetery is on the grounds of "Leewood" the house built by his son, Henry Lee, in 1795.

According to the article by Lucy Lee (his grand daughter), Stephen was married three times. His second wife is not included here, as there was no information provided about her. Also, he is reported to be descended from Col Robert Lee, who came to Virginia in 1641.

Married Anne Murphy.[1] Their marriage date is estimated from the birth of their first known child.

Lee-9340 and Lee-21455 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same spouse (Anne Murphy) and children, and are born at similar times (1711 versus 1715).
