I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), youll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the "Greeter" section-especially the Sources links and the link to my fellow greeter Debby, who has helpful information on her profile page also.
If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help or How to Use WikiTree, you can post to G2G or give me a holler.
Thank you for joining our collaborative tree! Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.
My initial purpose in compiling a personal family tree was to provide a reference for my family to trace their ancestry. But I appreciate the "help" I have had from the work of other family tree compilers and I would like to contribute to the sum of knowledge that would assist others in their search for their origins. So my trees on commercial sites are Public and I would like to help improve the information on Wikitree where I can.
I noticed you uploaded or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's is the link:
Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
TIP: If your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree. Before creating a new profile, use the "search function" up on top to see if your ancestor is already here.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please click the Volunteer link to receive your Volunteer badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in family history and wish to join us.
We will be very glad to welcome you to the WikiTree Community.
