Biography

Albert Leeson was born in 1885 to Thomas and Maria Leeson.

He married Lily Charity Winter in 1885[1].

They had eight children (Adolphus Frederick 1886-1964, Marion Albertina 1888-1969, Albert Barrington 1890-1967, Eric William 1897-1957, Warwick Ray Victor 1898-1972, Dalton Kinley Reed 1904-1976, Naomi Charity 1892-1894, and Vera Estelle 1894-1930).

Albert died in 1947[2] and is buried in Dunedoo cemetery[3].


OBITUARY[4] Mr. Albert Leeson The death occurred at his residence in Dunedoo on Saturday afternoon of Al bert Leeson, aged 92 years. The late Mr. Leeson was the oldest resident of the Dunedoo district having been brought to that centre by his parents at the age of six months. He had lived within a 10 mile radius of the town ever since. In his earlier days he had carried the Royal Mail and used to recall that in the great flood of 1878 he had been stranded for more than a week and had been given up for drowned. At the conclusion of his mail service, the deceased had purchased a farming property known as 'Anglewood', a few miles from Dunedoo, where he carried on grazing pursuits until he retired to live privately in Dunedoo several years ago. He was a life member of the Dunedoo Show Society. His wife predeceased him in 1933. Four sons and one daughter survive. The funeral took place from the Dunedoo Church of England on Mcnday after a service conducted by Rev. Caldwell. Interment was made in the Church of England portion of the Dunedoo Cemetery. C. J. Shakespeare and Sons were in charge of funeral arrangements.


Legal Notices: In the Will of ALBERT LEESON[5] late of Dunedoo In the State of New South Wales Retired Grazier deceased. Application will be made after 14 days from the publication hereof that Probate of the last Will dated 11th February 1946 of the above-named deceased may be granted to Adolphus Frederick Leeson and Eric Will Leeson the Executors named in the said Will. And all creditors in the said Estate are hereby required to send in particulars of their claims to the undermentioned address and all notices may be served at the undermentioned address. J. J.
