Isaac Leet, Sr. is recognized for his Patriotic Service, during the American Revolutionary War, by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Isaac served as a Deputy Sheriff and a member of the Commision of the Peace. [1]
Isaac was born in 1726, in Chesterfield Township, Burlington county, New Jersey. His wife's name was Rebecca Vaughan. Applications for membership in the DAR Society have been made by the descendants of his sons, Jonathan Leet, who married Mary Moore; and by his daughters, Rachel Leet, who married Hugh Wilson, Rebecca Leet, who married Enoch Day / Dye; and Mary Leet, who married John Hill. Isaac Leet, Jr. who served during the American Revolutionary War has his own DAR Ancestor #: A068763
Isaac Leet, Sr. wrote his Will in Canton Township, Washington county, Pennsylvania on August 1, 1796. It was proved in court on May 11, 1802 and names his wife, Rebecca, who he names as Executrix with his sons Samuel and Jonathan. He also names William, Daniel, Isaac, Mary Hill, Rebecca Day, Susanna Moreton, Catherine Bean, Rachel Wilson, and Elizabeth Waller. Witnesses are Joseph Swearengen, Isaac Kerr and David Redick. [2]
