Biography

Cornelia Otey Leftwich was born in 1836. She was a daughter of John Otey Leftwich and Sarah Povall North and married Robert Henry Buckner in 1857.

Research Notes

She gave her birth year as 1836 in her 1857 marriage record, but this was probably fudged to make her age 21 instead of the actual 18, probably for legal reasons. Other records agree with the 1838 on her tombstone.

Her mother died 21 Oct 1837 and her sister Caroline was born 1837.
