Biography

Joachim was born December 7, 1739 to Baptiste Legault Deslauriers and Marie Anne Cholet Laviolette in Point-Claire, Quebec. He was the 7th child of 11, but of these only seven would live to be adults.

When he was 22 years old he married Marie Charlotte Charles Choret on February 2, 1761 in St. Genevieve, Pierrefonds. Joachim and Marie Charlotte had 15 children: Joachim (lived 10 weeks), Anonyme (died day of birth), Josephe Marie (lived 14 months), Joseph (m. Felicite Couillard), Marie Josephe (m. Toussaint Theoret), Joachim (m. Marie Clemence Biroleau Lafleur), Francois (died at 9 months), Anonyme (died day of birth), Marie Charlotte (m. Thomas Hyacinthe Jamme Carriere), Jean Baptiste (m. Marguerite Rouleau), Francois Xavier (lived 10 days), Sebastien, Marie Marguerite (died age 4 years, 5 months), Francois (died 1 day old), Marie Madeleine (m. Jean Baptiste Jamme Carriere). Only six of their 15 children would live to adulthood.

Joachim and Marie Charlotte lived in St. Laurent, Quebec from 1762 and moved to Point Claire between July of 1772 and December of 1772.

Joachim died July 29, 1804 and is buried at St. Genevieve, Pierrefonds.
