Biography

Gertrude was born on 23 Nov 1871 in Neguac. ^[1] The 1871 Canada Census, just before Gertrude’s birth, shows Joachim who is a farmer, his wife Cecile, their two daughters Agnès and Marie as well as Domethilde (Cecile’s sister) living near Neguac in Northumberland County. ^[2]

Joseph Bourgeois and Gertrude Léger married on 5 Feb 1894 in Kent, New Brunswick, Canada. He was 23 years old at the time and she was 21. Joseph was the son of Judes Bourgeois and Euphimie Arsenault. Gertrude Léger was the daughter of Joachin Léger and Cècile Babineau. ^[3]

She passed away on 31 Mar 1954 in Grande-Digue. ^[4]
