Biography

Calvin was born in 1926. He was the son of Clemile Leger and Armalie Thibodeaux. He passed away in 2009.

Calvin Pierre Leger, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, in his residence.

He was born in Church Point and was a lifelong member of Hayes. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He worked for Farmers Rice Mill in Lake Charles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Mae (Broussard) Leger of Hayes; 1 son, Michael Leger, of Hayes; 2 daughters, Lake Charles and of Iowa, La.; 1 brother, of Hayes; 2 sisters, of Jennings of Beaumont, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; and 1 greatgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jeffery Buck Leger and Bertman Leger; four brothers and two sisters.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in Hayes Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today, Feb. 5, with rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. on Friday. [1]
