Family #301 in the 1834 Grimm census.
Family #322 in the 1857 Grimm census.
The census identifies him as the father of Friedrich Daniel Leger, born in 1821, but that does not seem possible with Jakob Alexander Legler being born in 1812, which would make him a father at the age of 9.
There are two possibilities:
In the 1834 census, Jakob Alexander Legler is not identified as married, nor does he have a younger brother named Friedrich Daniel. Since Friedrich Daniel was born in 1821, he should appear in the census.
I will look for Friedrich Daniels born in 1821 elsewhere in the 1834 census, the product of a different marriage. It's possible that Jakob Alexander Legler married an older woman who had a son by a previous marriage. After her death, he may have adopted Friedrich Daniel, giving the boy his own surname.
