He married Alma Helene Schur (1882-1958) 23 Oct 1904, in Fayette County, Texas. Herman Gerhard Lehmann passed away 3 Aug 1967, in Vernon, Wilbarger County, Texas, at the age of 84, and was buried at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Vernon, Wilbarger County, Texas.
