There is an unabridged copy of The Tower Records by Sir Robert Cotton online. The professional researchers need to look at it themselves. I did read it at one time and there was a reference to Col William Leigh in it. My health is not the best right now or I would reread that and post the comment online. My suggestion is to change Sarah and Mary's last names to Leigh and leave them connected. Disconnect John Lea as a son and disconnect Philadelphia Ludwell Lea as a daughter of Col. William Leigh. Thank you, Mary

I haven't been able to find an online copy of this source - if anyone can find it post a link, that would be very helpful. It is cited as FN 4 in this paper which is cited as a source on this and other Lea/Leigh profiles, but I am not having any luck finding an online version of this collection.

This what I found.

1. [pdf] Download An Exact Abridgment Of The Records In The Tower Of Lond (saintlukebc.org)

2. An Exact Abridgement of the Records in the Tower of London, From | Sir Robert Cotton, William Prynne (lawbookexchange.com)

Burke continues, "many of that family under the name de Warr, de Warre, and le Warre were (in succeeding reigns) summoned to parliament as Lords thereof; which may be seen in numberless instances in the abridgment of the Tower Records collected by Sir Robert Cotton, and published by Mr. Prynne."

Is there any reliable source establishing that this person is a child of William Leigh? If so, please reply with the source so we can properly cite it. If no one is aware of any source to support the connection, shouldn't these Lea children be detached?

That linked document on Ancestry.com is not a reliable source on its own, as it does not cite any source for the claim that Valentine's wife was Mary Leigh & nor does the Ware lineage document that is attached. However, this profile also does not seem to have any source cited for the claim that his wife was Sarah Lea, unless it is in the "Tower Records" source that is cited in the profile. Does anyone know what that source refers to?

What are the "Tower Records"? I can't figure out what that refers to from the limited information given in the profile.

I don't see any more identifying information about the "Tower Records" source in that document than is in the citation on this profile. If you have a link to this source, could you add it to the citation in this profile?

Warning: Check the data.

A mother's death date should not be before one of her children's birth dates.

Peter Ware-433, Henry Ware-2085, John Ware-727 and Edward Ware-2276 were all born after the date of Sarah's death.

Leigh-345 and Lea-1093 appear to represent the same person because: please merge correcting error report thank you
At this point in time they were known as Leigh/Lea/Lee. choose any one you wouldnt make everyone happy.

The statesment: "William Leigh's granddaughter, Elizabeth, (by his son John) married Zachary Taylor and was the grandmother of President Zachary Taylor."

Is not correct.
