"Charles H. Leight, 74, of 425 S. Potomac St., retired owner of Leight's Barber Shop, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Waynesboro Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years and was unable to work since December. Mr. Leight had been critically ill since January 22, when he was last admitted to the hospital.

"He was born in Antrim Township, west of Greencastle, Nov. 25, 1896, son of the late William E. and Anna Maun Leight. His early life was lived on several farms in the Price's Church area.

"Mr. Leight entered the barber's trade as a young man and in 1927 purchased the business of the late Samuel Stoner, with whom he had worked for a number of years. He had operated the barber shop at the West Main Street location since 1936.

"He and Mrs. Leight were married in April, 1929, and made their home at the present residence for the past 30 years.

"Mr. Leight was a member of the First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Waynesboro Barbers' Association and the Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

"He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Arta E. Eyler Leight. Mr. Leight was the last of his immediate family.

"The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. J. Earl Pryor. Burial will be made in Price's Church Cemetery.

"The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday."
