Cautionary Note: Vital Records of Steuben reflect Lydia Tracy Leighton died 1789 & Asa Leighton was born 1791. Asa was not Lydia's son.

In the 1850 U.S. Census, mason Asa Leighton, 58, born Maine, was living in Millbridge, Maine, with Loruhamah, 55,; blacksmith Robert P., 13; laborer Lewis R., 21; Ellen, 17; sailor George F., 15, all born in Maine. Living with them were millmen Albert Treen, 26,; Michael Curry, 24; and James Marshall, 27, all born in N.S.; millmen William McBeth, 28, born Ireland; John McDonald, 20; and William McCloed, 27, both born N.S.
