Thomas was born in 1834. He was the son of Samuel Leiper and Mary Lewis. He passed away in 1888.
Thomas Irvine Leiper married 1860 Emma Hubbard Walter, daughter of Young Singleton and Letitia (Warne) Walter of Chester County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Leiper was Lieutenant in the 58th Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861, Captain, 1863. In 1864 he entered business as a partner in the Irvine and Leiper Manufacturing Company of Chester.

Virginia Anderson Leiper (1865-1929), married 1880 John L. Black.
Ann Bonneville Leiper (1869-1922), married 1891 Livingston Boyd Stedman.
Letitia Leiper (1874-1876).
Charles Lewis Leiper (1876- ), married 1909 Margaret McClure, no children. Professor of Mathematics, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis.
