Biography
Joseph Lejeune is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 5 Left [1]
Joseph Lejeune was born around 1755 or 1756 during the Great Upheaval to parents Marguerite Trahan and Jean Baptiste LeJeune, père. He was apparently baptized in Maryland, but may have been born in Acadia. [2][3]
He married (1) Perrine "Patsy" Hay, born ca. 1766, daughter of Gilbert Hay and Eugénie "Jane" Jackson, ca. 1781.[4]
He married (2) Marie Ritter in a civil ceremony on May 21, 1822. [6] The second marriage was validated in a religious ceremony at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Grand Coteau, Louisiana, October 11, 1843.[7]
He died 14 Oct 1847, incorrectly listed as 110 years old.[8]
His succession was filed two days later at the Opelousas courthouse.[9]

Text: At the time the Lejeunes arrived at Iberville in the summer of 1770 . . . Joseph, according to his age given on the ship's passengers list, would have been about 14 years old.

Jean-Baptiste [LEJEUNE], Blaise, Joseph, Marguerite, and Nanette all eventually left Maryland en route to Louisiana with their uncle, Honore Trahan and his wife, aboard the English schooner Britain. This ship, ill-equipped and barely seaworthy, eventually ran aground near present-day Goliad, Texas. Eventually, the Acadians and the Germans were given Spanish passports for an overland journey to Louisiana. They traveled by land from Goliad to Natchitoches.

LeJeune Young-7 and Lejeune-25 appear to represent the same person because: same birth, death, parents. LNAB should be Lejeune which is the accepted Acadian form for this project.
Lejeune-25 and LeJeune Young-7 are not ready to be merged because: prior generations need to be merged first before this one can be completed. Once those are done, I'll come back to this one and re-submit the merge proposal.
LeJeune Young-7 and Lejeune-25 appear to represent the same person because: same birth, death, father, son Hubert Gilbert. Lejeune is the correct LNAB according to the Acadian Project name guidelines, so Lejeune-25 should be the final LNAB. All data in Lejeune-25 should be retained in the final profile.
