Biography

Daniel was born about 1722. He is possibly the son of Theodore Lejeune and an Unknown Landry.[1]

He was listed on the 1752 census at Rivière du Nord, Isle Saint-Jean with Benjamin Landry (abt.1698-bef.1764) and his family.[2]

He died in Isle St. Jean in October 1752.[3]

Research Note

Note by Stephen A White:[1]

(translation : We find a named Daniel Lejeune in Benjamin Landry’s household and a named Alexis Lejeune at "his uncle" Joseph Landry’s home during the census of La Roque in 1752. We believe that Daniel and Alexis were brothers from a marriage between a Lejeune and the sister by Benjamin Landry. Since Daniel was already thirty in 1752, we assume that his father must have been born around 1700, if not earlier. Since there was no Landry among the wives of Pierre Lejeune's sons, we assume that Daniel Lejeune's father was one of Martin Lejeune's sons. We believe that Théodore Lejeune was the closest age to that of Benjamin Landry’s sister (born shortly after the 1703 census) and we therefore conclude that it was he who must have been her spouse.)
