Biography

Marie Josephte was born on 2 Sep 1795 and baptized on 4 Sep 1795 in the church of Saint-Joachim, in Châteuaguay. Her parents were Jean Baptiste Lemay and Marie Anne Guerin (his second wife). Her godparents were Augustin Lefevre and Marie Amable. [1] She married Frederic Nekemberg on 11 Feb 1811 in Saint-Régis.

Marie Josephte Lemay was born in 1795 at Châteauguay, Bas-Canada.

There are actually two Josephte Lemays living in the same region about the same time, and they are cousins. Her cousin, the one who is the wife of Régis Leblanc, had 17 children, and her date of birth & marriage match to the records of Régis Leblanc, who died in 1858.

This Marie Josephte Lemay married first at St-François-Régis to Frederic Heckemberg, on 11-Feb-1811.

She married second to Jean Baptiste Quesnell, about 1829.
