Biography
Katherine "Katie" Lennox was born in Louisiana in 1875. She married John H. Helmond on either June 15, 1895 or June 15, 1897 in Galveston County, Texas. She was the mother of seven children: John Scott Helmond (1896-1955); James P. Helmond (1899-1958); Elizabeth "Bessie" Helmond Kase (1900-1990); Katherine Ann Helmond Kelso (1902-1965); Patrick Joseph Helmond (1904-1983); George Harold Helmond, Sr. (1906-1984); and Joseph p. Helmond (1910-1950). She died in Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas on January 8, 1912, and was interred in Calvary Cemetery on January 9, 1912
