Biography

Anthony was born in 1809 (unlikely, see research note. His second wife was born in 1785).

On 4 April 1821 Anthony Leonard married widow Susannah Adams in Horsley, Gloucestershire, England. [1][2]

The couple had a son, Charles born in 1826. Anthony was a Weaver.

Research Notes

Anthony cannot have been born in 1809 if he was married in 1821, he would only have been aged 12 - and it was his 2nd marriage. He's more likely to have been born around 1797 at the latest (if he was aged 25 at the time of his second marriage). He could have been baptised years after his birth but no note is made of this and (lots of) other children were baptised in the meantime.

I investigated if he could actually be the father Anthony listed on this profile. He married Betty Sansom and they baptised children between 1793 and 1808 (Anthony was the youngest). There is a burial record for Elizbeth Leonard in Horsley in 1811 but she was listed as a widow. No other Betty or Elizabeth's have a burial record in Horsley between 1809 and 1821.

Joseph and Sarah were also baptising children at the same time - no sign of an Anthony though.

No sign of another marriage record (he was a widower when he married Susannah) either. Susannah was born around 1785.
