Biography

Joseph was born in 1837. He is the son of Richard Leonard and Eliza Burt.

He came to Western Australia with his parents on the Diadem, arriving on 10 April 1842.[1]

Joseph was a bricklayer and builder in Perth. He bought Lot G17 in Perth in 1861 and other blocks in 1864 and Lot Y 1/2 36 in 1857. He inherited his father's property in Hay St, Murray andMHilligan, and Murray-Wellington Strees. He was a member of the lOOF Lodge and employed seven Ticket of Leave men on occasions 1852-1868 including two sawyers and two bricklayers at Toodyay.[1]

On Saturday a man named Joseph Graham was waiting for the train at Green's Siding when he dropped dead. Heart disease was the cause.[2]
