This is a transcript of the portion of Thomas Leonard's will - dated Jan. 4, 1843 - that names his heirs:
"... I direct first that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid I also direct that after my death all the property belonging to me of every kind to belong to Jonathan Leonard by him providing me and my wife a peaceable and plentiful living while we live. I also direct that Isaac Leonard, Jemima Kersey, James Leonard, Jane Seybold, Rachel Taylor, Nancy Seybold, Mary Compton, Bailey Leonard, Jeruel Leonard, Jabez Leonard and Martha Cox: one dollar Each, and I hereby make and appoint my worthy friends William Marley and William Leonard to be my Executors of my will and testament. ..."
Jonathan, Thomas' youngest son, cared for Thomas and Ann/Nancy in their final years.
