Emma (Leonard) Hall was born in Pennsylvania.

Emily Jane Leonard was born on 8 October 1942 in Ursina, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph Leonard and Catherine Ann Burnworth.

Stewart Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, 31 August 1860, Farmington Post Office
Jos Leonard (39), farmer, owned real estate valued at $1000 and personal property valued at $400, and his wife, Cath (38), in household with their children, Louisa (14), Benj (12), SIlas (10), Emma (8), Eliz (6), Franklin (4), and Eleanor, 10 months old. Louisa, Benj, Silas, Emma, and Eliz attended school within the census year and all in household were born in Pennsylvania.[1]

Emma reported she had 10 children, 9 living, in household with their children, Logan H (20), day laborer, born December 1879, Frank (14), laborer, born December 1885, Sopha (13), laborer, born April 1887, Jessie L (7), born April 1893, and Brownfield (2), born June 1897. Frank attended school for 3 months within the census year and Sopha attended for 7 months. All in household were able to read, write, and speak English and all were born in Pennsylvania. Emily reported she had 10 children, 9 living, in household with daughter, Jessie (16), and son, Brown (12). All in household were able to read, write, and speak English except Emily, and all were born in Pennsylvania. [5]

Joseph Hall (68), farmer, and wife Emma (68), in household with son, Brown (23), a blower at glass factory. All in household were able to read, write, and speak English and all were born in Pennsylvania.[6] Neighbors included Richard Bryner, Kimmel Silbaugh, and Jesse Silbaugh.

Ursina Borough, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, 8 April 1940
Jesse Enos (46), widowed, owned property on Water Street valued at $1200, in household with her children, Warren (18), laborer, and Ila Jean (13), and her mother, Emma Hall (88), widowed. Jesse completed 8th grade, Warren and Ila Jean completed 7th grade and Emma completed 2nd grade. All in household were at the same property in 1935 except Emma, in Confluence, Somerset County, and all were born in Pennsylvania. Jesse received income more that $50 from sources other than money wages or salary.[7]

Emily Jane Leonard Hall died 8 October 1942 in Ursina, Somerset County, Pennsylvania of chronic valvular disease and mitral stenosis, and was buried at Irwin Memorial Cemetery, Ohiopyle, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.[8]

Joseph's wife Emily Leonard was the daughter of Joseph Leonard, who was married to Hulda Mitchell, the first wife of George W Hall, Joseph's brother. (Joseph's widowed sister-in-law married his father-in-law).
