John, his wife Sarah, and son Jabez were killed by Indians on 20 May 1676. [4]
The Keep reference, by Best, cites a DOD of 26 March 1676, which was a Sunday, using Julian "Old Style" - Year begins March 25th. The family members were going to church in Springfield.
The Burt reference cites a DOD of 20 May 1676, which was a Saturday, using Julian "Old Style" - Year begins March 25th.
Further evidence that the date of death occurred in March rather than May is cited in History of Hadley, ..., by Sylvester Judd, where he cites A letter from Major Savage [to the Governor's Council], dated at Hadley, March 28, 1676,
gives the following account:[5], [6]

The Burt reference, which I've linked into this profile, lists the DOD for Sarah as 20 May 1676, cause of death Killed by Indians.
The Burt reference is likely inaccurate as I've documented in John Keep's profile a DOD of 26 March 1676.
I defer to you to decide which DOD to use.
Thanks
