Biography

Mary, daughter of Solomon and Sarah (Chandler) Leonard and great granddaughter of JAMES CHILTON, was born about 1650 at either Duxbury or Bridgewater, MA.

She married John, son of William and Anne Pollard, as his second wife at Taunton, MA on December 24, 1673.

They resided at Taunton where there first child, John, was born. They removed to Boston, MA where they had three more children: Samuel, Hannah, and Joseph.

In 1685 she was admitted to Old South Church at Boston just prior to having her three children baptized.

Prior to 1692 they moved back to Taunton where he was active in the military.

The last record of John is when he released his portion of the inn that belong to his father to his brother Jonathan on May 1, 1722.

The last record of Mary was when testified at the age of about 75 years on March 3, 1724/25. This comes from Mayflower Families but they neglected to give the source.

Mary Leonard's mother is probably not the Sarah Chandler who married Moses Simmons.
