Betsey Leonard, born 16 Dec 1794 at Preston, Connecticut, was a daughter of Elizabeth (Braman; 1762 - 1844) and Samuel Leonard (1768 - 1818) ^[1],^[2].

She married in 1817 at Norwich, Connecticut, Capt. Hezekiah Prentice (1795 - 1865). They had 3 children:

1. Hezekiah Leonard Prentice (1819–1834)
2. Jane G Prentice (1825–1912)
3. William Clift Prentice (1830–1852)

Betsey (Leonard) Prentice died 16 Aug 1834 in Griswold, Connecticut. Her grave is in Leonard Cemetery, Griswold, New London County, Connecticut, USA ^[3].
