Sarah Sally Leonard was born on 6 June 1804 in Tompkins county, New York.

Sarah was wed to Alvirus Jehial Gillispie on 17 October 1823 in New York. They had the following known children together:

3. Erastus Gillispie, 1829–1831;
4. Samantha Gillispie Baldwin, 1831–1888;

Sarah Sally Leonard Gillispie died on 17 March 1863 in Tekonsha, Calhoun county, Michigan. She was buried there at Riverside Cemetery. ^[2]
