Lodin or Loden Lepp was a norse Birkebeiner-chief, who accompanied Kristina, King Haakon Haakonsons daughter on her wedding journey to Spain, and who led later missions to Tunis and Egypt on behalf of the king. Under the rule of Magnus Lagabøter he got his lordship and after his death, he led the negotiations on Iceland for the accept of the new laws.

Gerhard Munthe writes about Lodin Lepp in an article detailing information occuring in "Valgacten af 1319" [1]. The text also mentions his son, Bjarne Lodisnssøn who was a knight. It states that Bjarne was, for unknown reasons imprisoned in 1302 at Ragnildarholm at Koghelle. In 1304, Bjarne was a free man, and present in Bergen on May 1. Bjarne is last mentioned on Dec 10, 1305. Munthe states that Ivar Lodinssøn (married to Gudrun) and Jon Lodinssøn must have been brothers of Bjarne Lodissøn. No mention is made of another Brother, Sigurd in this text.

"Lodin fulgte i Året 1257 Kong Håkon Håkonssons Datter Kristine til Spanien, hvorfra han kom tilbage det følgende år. 1262 sendte Kong Håkon ham til Sultanen i Tunis med mange Falke og andre Ting, som vare sjeldne. Fra denne Sendelse kom Lodin Lepp tilbage det folgende År (1281). I Biskopernes Landsforviisning, 1282, siges Hr. Lodin at have havt megen Deel. I Aaret 1285 var Hr. Lodin Mærkesmand og sad i Kongens Raad.
