Janet (or Margaret) was born about 1572, estimated from the birth date of her brother, the daughter of George Leslie of Crichie and Marjory, the daughter of Patrick Leslie of Kincraigie. She married firstly, Norman Leslie, son of Alexander Leslie, Burgess of Inverurie. Norman was a brewer and the wealthy head of an old family. Margaret married secondly, Alexander Harvie, Baillie of Inverurie and son of the Laird of Elrick. In 1597 she was witness to the trial of Isobell Collie for witchcraft.
Barbara Innes and Mary Collie (or Kellie) were found guilty of witchcraft and were strangled and burnt.[1]
