Biography

Anita Theresa Lessard was born on 16 May 1921 in Waterville, Kennebec, Maine. She was the daughter of Lessard Lessard and Malvina Giroux. Anita served in the US Navy during World War II. She married Phillip Thadeous Jelen on 11 Jul 1945 in Pensacola, Escambia, Florida. Anita died at age 70 on 12 Aug 1991 in Waterville; she was buried in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Blue Star Avenue in Augusta, Kennebec, Maine.
