Biography

Mary was born in 1918. She is the daughter of Bob Lessert and Freda Brunhoeber. ^[1]

In 1948 she is listed on the Osage Tribal rolls as 1/8 Osage-Kaw.^[2] Mary is listed on the Native American census rolls, in 1948 as 1/16 Osage. ^[3] She grew up in Oklahoma.^[4]

She married Louis Cassel in 1941. ^[5]

In 1947 she marries (2) Forest Gallagher.

On 29 December 1942 Mary enlisted in the Women's Army Corps (Inactive Reserve) as an Aviation Cadet. Her enlistment states she had completed 4 years of high school and was working as a clerk.
