DNA Evidence Backing Up My Tree
I have taken an Ancestry autosomal DNA test. The list below shows most recent shared ancestors between myself and Ancestry subscribers who share DNA with me, according to a comparison of our trees. The number of matches is shown after the name, along with the strength of the matches in centimorgans (cMs).
Since only the most recent shared ancestors are counted, those further back in time will have a lower count. To get the full number of DNA matches, one would have to add up the matches in all the intervening generations.
The count was accurate as of September 2022. Not included are several matches that were previously apparent but are no longer showing up because Ancestry members changed or removed their trees:
Paternal grandfather's side:
Thomas Budd and Lucy Fillery (4 matches, 10cM, 10cM, 9cM, 5x great grandparents)
James Windebank and Ann Faulkner (1 match, 13cM, 5x great grandparents)
James Windebank alone (1 match, 8cM, 5x great grandparent)
John Lester and Ann Himes (1 match, 10cM, 5x great grandparents)
John Lester singly (1 match, 11cM, 5x great grandparent)

Paternal grandmother's side:
Thomas Upjohn and Charlotte Anna Rouse (3 matches, 10cM, 10cM, 10cM 6x great grandparents). These three people share a tree that seems to be missing a generation so the real link might be more recent.

William Rogers and Elizabeth Hannah Morey (1 match, 8cM, *possible* 5x great grandparents)

[Removed match: Charles Summers and Mary Anne Dunford (1 match, 156cM 2x great grandparents). Author changed his tree but, since the link is so strong, I think he made a mistake.]
Digital Afterlife
Should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all private profiles I'm managing to be transferred to my wife, Teri Lester (Giltner-53). In the event that is not possible, they can be passed off to any interested WikiTreer. To the best of my knowledge, my private profiles do not contain any material that would be controversial or embarrassing to anyone.
