Biography

Mary Esther Lester, born 17 Sep 1845 at North Parma, New York, was the sixth child of Christopher Lester and Esther G. Bailey ^[1]. Mary was counted at age 5 with her birth family in the 1850 census of Parma Corners, Monroe County, New York, and subsequently in 1855 at the same location ^[2],^[3]. By 1860 they were found in Greece, New York ^[4].

Mary married in 1864, Henry H. Foote (1841 - 1931). Their children, as listed in their online memorial sites (others as profiled):

This family was censused in 1870 in Newport, New York ^[5], thereafter by 1875 in Gates, New York ^[6]. By 1880 they had moved to the city of Rochester ^[7].

Mary Esther (Lester) Foote passed away in Parma, New York, 29 May 1884. Her grave is in Parma Union Cemetery, Parma, Monroe County, New York, USA ^[8]. Note that the F-A-G header panel is garbled as to her year of death; the grave marker (made of marble) is highly eroded, such that the originally carved digit '4' is indistinct.
