Mary was born in 1926. She was the daughter of Hamilton Letson and Mary Mitchell. She passed away in 2014.

Forbes, Virgilene; age 87; of Lake; passed away on January 20, 2014, while residing in an AFC Home in Evart, MI. She was born Mary Virgilene on August 3, 1926, to Hamilton and Mary (Mitchel) Letson. In August of 1942, she married Fay Forbes in Brinton (Coldwater Twp.) and worked with her husband on their farm. Virgilene was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. Music was a big part of her life, and she loved to play her guitar and sing. She and her husband, Fay, played music for weddings and dances. Virgilene is survived by one son, Michael (Pam) Forbes of Rodney; one daughter, Janet (Jim) Leiter of Big Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Anastasia “Annie” Sherman of Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fay, in 1979; an infant daughter, Evelyn; an infant great grandson, Samuel; a son, Lavern, in 2013; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters. A Memorial Luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Coldwater Twp. Hall (the corner of Coleman and Brinton Rd.) Contributions in Virgilene’s name may be made to the Mecosta County Commission on Aging (Meals on Wheels Program). Condolences can be left online at daggettgilbertfuneralhome.com Arrangements were entrusted to the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton.
