Biography

Jacob Levine was born in Poland in 1861 to unknown parents. He married Jennie Gurofsky some time before 1881 when their first child was born. The family immigrated to the U.S. 1885. Their son, Hyman, was the first child born in the U.S. Jacob was in clothing his entire life.

In the 1900 Census she says to have given birth to 11 children, of which 9 have survived. All of the surviving children are still living with the parents. In the 1910 Census she gave birth to one more child, the two oldest children don't live anymore with their parents.

In the 1900 Census his birthplace is given as (Russia) (Pol.). In the 1910 Census then given as Russia.
